FAQ for “Helping you Choose”

The Moneta “Helping you Choose” guide provides useful information to make sure you can select the right pan for your needs: lots of advice, helping you to find out about the materials and technologies, but also about the most common types of pan and the best ways of using them.

Aluminium: the ideal base.
Aluminium is the best material for top-quality pans. With its high thermal conductivity and low specific weight, this metal gives the pan unique cooking and handling properties.

The importance of the base.
It is important to choose pans with a base that is not too thin, in order to avoid rapid overheating and distortion. In other words: all other things being equal, the thicker the base, the greater the quality of the pan.
A special note for induction cooking: you need to use aluminum pans on which a ferromagnetic base plate has been applied. Normal aluminum pans do not work on induction rings.

Internal coatings
Moneta uses non-stick or CERAMICA® internal coatings in order to improve cooking performance and to ensure long life for the pan. So when you are buying a pan, it is worth considering not just the thickness of the aluminum but also the type of internal protection, making sure it is suitable for your needs and that it reflects your own style in the kitchen.
Moneta coatings are selected from the best on the market, which offer different levels of performance and resistance. Here is a quick guide to the characteristics of each one.

Handles
Handles are an important element to consider when buying a pan. One of the distinctive features of Moneta products is the choice of handles, which are designed to combine great style and ergonomic use. The materials used are Bakelite or stainless steel (the latter with special silicone inserts on some models).

Bakelite
Bakelite handles are the ideal solution for everyday cooking. With their excellent heat insulation properties, they are just what you need for safe cooking at all times. In some collections they are available with a special soft-touch finish, giving you an even softer and safer grip.

Stainless steel
For those who wish to combine beauty and professional performance, stainless steel is the best choice. Fastened by sturdy rivets to the body of saucepans and frying pans, they have an extraordinarily long life. Pans with stainless-steel handles are extremely versatile, as they can also be used in the oven. And stainless steel with silicone provides the greatest level of safety and grip. The handle is extremely durable and provides excellent heat insulation.
